Odd cycling, a tripping breaker, or a blinking error code deserves an actual diagnosis, not a guess. We test capacitors, contactors, and refrigerant pressure before recommending a single part, on every Nicasio call.
The overwhelming majority of Hvac Repair visits come down to one of a handful of usual suspects: capacitors, contactors, control boards. We check all of them with a meter before quoting anything, which is the difference between a $150 fix and an unnecessary $1,500 one, and we'd rather find the $150 answer.
What you're actually getting when you call us.
Licensing, EPA certification, and insurance travel with every technician we send — we don't outsource this work.
Trucks are staged around Nicasio, CA for quick Nicasio response, most calls land a same-day or next-morning window instead of a week-long wait.
You approve a fixed price before we touch anything, and that price doesn't move once work begins, agreed to upfront.
Every truck carries manifold gauges, amp clamps, and combustion analyzers, so the fault gets measured, not assumed.
Six of the most common jobs our Nicasio techs handle.
The first move is isolating exactly which of these failed: capacitor, contactor, thermostat call, or charge level.
A failed run capacitor is behind a huge share of no-start calls, and it's confirmed with a microfarad reading, not a guess, and we confirm it with an actual meter reading before replacing anything.
High amp draw or a seized bearing on the blower motor shows up as weak airflow or a burning smell, and we test the windings before recommending replacement.
A miscalibrated thermostat or a glitchy control board can mimic a much bigger failure than it actually is, and we rule these out before quoting anything larger.
We locate the real leak, because a top-off without finding the source only buys a few weeks.
Heating-side components get tested individually, since a dirty flame sensor is a five-minute fix, not a new furnace.
Four steps, start to finish.
Tell us what's happening and we'll get a tech moving — no phone tree to navigate.
A stocked truck arrives within your confirmed window — not a vague all-day estimate.
We test, then quote, then wait for your go-ahead.
Most repairs wrap same visit, backed by a written labor warranty, covered by our warranty.
Unedited feedback from our Nicasio customers.
Breaker kept popping every time the blower kicked on. Turned out to be a shorted wire nobody had caught in two prior visits from other companies.
— N. Okafor, homeowner
Appreciated getting a text with a two-hour window instead of the usual 'sometime this afternoon.' Tech was right on time.
— V. Delgado, property manager
System was cycling on and off every few minutes. They traced it to a thermostat wiring issue, not the compressor everyone assumed it was.
— L. Whitfield, homeowner
Third HVAC company we've tried for our small office building. First one to actually pull a service history instead of starting from zero each visit.

What Nicasio customers ask most.
Most calls get a same-day or next-morning slot, with a text update once the tech is en route, and dispatch texts you once the tech is moving.
Yes, but it's a known number before anyone shows up, and it comes off the final bill if you go ahead with the repair, and it's subtracted once you approve the fix.
We diagnose first and explain the actual cause before quoting — no billing for guesswork, so you're never charged for an assumption.
The number stays fixed unless something new turns up and you sign off on it.
Yes, our techs are trained and certified on both fuel types equally.
Absolutely — brand and original installer don't matter to us, regardless of who put it in.
